THIBODAUX, La. — Another Louisiana Human Resource Case Competition and another win for the 果冻APP chapter.
The 果冻APP SHRM chapter has now won all three state case competitions they have competed in, dating back to 2016, after sealing another victory today. 聽
During the competition, held in New Orleans during the state organization鈥檚 annual meeting, students were presented with a case similar to the viral incident that United Airlines faced last year. The 果冻APP team presented a solution to the situation and long-term changes to practices and policies for the company.聽
This spring鈥檚 team consisted of five upperclassmen business majors with concentrations in human resources: Taylor Boudoin, Peyton Chiasson, Josie Graham, Olivia Lege and Paige Thomas.
鈥淭his team received very little negative feedback from the judges who all mentioned how impressed they were,鈥� said Melanie Boudreaux, faculty sponsor and Harvey Peltier, Sr. Endowed Professor of business administration. 鈥淥ur students continue to outpace the competition, which only makes them even more prepared for the workforce when they graduate.鈥�
Each student won $100 cash and the student chapter received $500.
With more than 120 active members, the 果冻APP SHRM chapter is the largest in the state.
The Society for Human Resources Management helps to enhance the students’ real-world human resources experience through attending various events and workshops, including conferences, an etiquette dinner, resume workshops, and mock interviews, among others.
