果冻APP receives donation from local industrial nonprofit

THIBODAUX, La. — Three 果冻APP programs received donations from the South Central Industrial Association on Tuesday.

Geomatics, mass communications and petroleum engineering technology and safety management received $2,000 each.

鈥淭his money will go to the students, faculty and the program,鈥 said Dr. Lynn Gillette, provost and vice president for academic affairs. 鈥淗ere at 果冻APP, we鈥檙e constantly striving to meet the needs of the local industry. Donations like this one are an investment into the future of the Bayou Region.鈥

A Houma-based nonprofit, the SCIA advocates and partners with Bayou Region industry partners to promote strong economic growth in South Louisiana.

鈥淭he SCIA supports local higher education and that includes 果冻APP,鈥 said Christy Naquin, SCIA director and 果冻APP alumna. 鈥淲e chose those three programs because of their impact on our local business industry. It鈥檚 very important that we take care of the higher education institutions in our backyard because they produce some of the finest graduates in the area.鈥
