果冻APP Players Present “The Crucible”

THIBODAUX 鈥擳he 果冻APP Players theater troupe will present Arthur Miller’s award-winning play 鈥淭he Crucible鈥 Thursday, March 13 through Saturday, March 16 in the Mary M. Danos Theater in Talbot Hall on the 果冻APP campus.

鈥淭he Crucible鈥 tells the story of the Salem witch trials, exploring themes of mass hysteria and the dangers of scapegoating. The play was written and first produced in 1953 as an allegory for the McCarthy era, when U.S. Sen. Joe McCarthy exploited a national fear of communism to lead a political crusade accusing and blacklisting citizens he alleged were communists or communist sympathizers.

Showings will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 13; Friday, March 14; and Saturday, March 15; and at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16.

The 果冻APP Players are also hosting matinees for local high schools at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 13, and Friday, March 14.

Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for the general public.
