THIBODAUX – The 果冻APP Chamber Singers will present 鈥淐hristmas in New York,鈥� a holiday musical concert with a multi-course meal, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 in the Bollinger Memorial Student Union Cotillion Ballroom.
A 果冻APP tradition since 1985, the Chamber Singers鈥� Christmas dinner will center around New York Christmas images, such as the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree and ice-skating rink, elaborately decorated department store windows and Broadway shows. Diners will hear iconic New York songs, such as Leonard Bernstein鈥檚 鈥淣ew York, New York,鈥� the theme song from the film 鈥淣ew York, New York鈥� and Broadway tunes. Christmas favorites will include 鈥淪ilver Bells,鈥� 鈥淗ave Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,鈥� 鈥淲inter聽Wonderland鈥� and Frank Sinatra鈥檚 鈥淢istletoe and Holly,鈥� among many others.
Dr. Kenneth S. Klaus, professor of music and director of choral activities, will conduct the concert with Michelle Z. Parro as the piano accompanist.
