¹ū¶³APP Players to present ‘Almost, Maine’

THIBODAUX — ¹ū¶³APP’s acting troupe, the ¹ū¶³APP Players, will perform the romantic comedy ā€œAlmost, Maineā€ during Homecoming Week. Written by John Cariani and directed by ¹ū¶³APP speech instructor Anna Broussard, the play is a series of nineĀ vignettesĀ about couples living in the mythical Maine town of Almost.

ā€œThis is a fun, light-hearted show about small-town people falling in and out of love in the dead of winter,ā€ Broussard said. ā€œI chose this off-Broadway play because I want people to know that theater doesn’t have to be political or serious. ā€˜Almost, Maine’ still has a message and says a lot of sweet things about love, but audiences should come prepared to laugh.ā€

ā€œAlmost, Maine,ā€ which features a cast of 12 ¹ū¶³APP students, is appropriate for all ages. Performances will be held in the Mary M. Danos Theater in Talbot Hall at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 11–13, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students with ¹ū¶³APP ID cards, and they may be purchased at the door or in advance by callingĀ 985-448-4586.
