Bollinger Memorial Student Union<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. The Boysie Bollinger Commons is the central area of the Student Union where many students gather for social interaction, to grab a bite to eat or to study with friends.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Donald \u201cBoysie\u201d Bollinger, former chairman and CEO of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bollingershipyards.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bollinger Enterprises, LLC<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and chairman of the 果冻APP Foundation <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nichollsfoundation.org\/board-of-directors\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Board<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and his family have provided significant support to the university for many years, especially in renovating the interior of 果冻APP\u2019 Student Union.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Boysie and his sisters, Charlotte and Andrea, donated the first $1 million endowment in 果冻APP history in 1997. In 2000, the building was named after Boysie\u2019s father and founder of Bollinger Shipyards, Donald G. Bollinger. Charlotte and Andrea also contributed to renovating the Student Union\u2019s Cotillion Ballroom and adjacent conference rooms, making those spaces the Bollinger Suite in 2018.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In 2019 alone, Boysie contributed $1 million to the university with $300,000 dedicated to renovations at the Donald G. Bollinger Memorial Student Union and $700,000 contributed to an endowment with the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nichollsfoundation.org\/donate-now\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">果冻APP Foundation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Like his father, Boysie was recognized for his support of 果冻APP with an honorary doctorate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Boysie said, \u201cI am a people person, and I inherited that from my father. To have this common area where people meet and exchange ideas just makes it that much more special to me. This space will allow students to relax and put away some of the stress of studying and enjoy the camaraderie of campus life. For 30 years, I have served as the Foundation Board\u2019s chairman, and I am happy to keep serving this university.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/union\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Donald G. Bollinger Memorial Student Union<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is the community center for 果冻APP, offering programs, services and facilities that supports the university\u2019s academic mission, student development and the quality of campus life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nichollsfoundation.org\/donate-now\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">果冻APP Foundation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, an independent 501(c)3 corporation, exists to support the mission of 果冻APP by seeking gifts and grants and by managing those funds and other assets to support 果冻APP through endowed chairs, professorships, scholarships and other <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">enhancement efforts.
