{"id":8730,"date":"2022-04-11T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-11T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/?p=8730"},"modified":"2022-04-08T14:45:41","modified_gmt":"2022-04-08T19:45:41","slug":"nicholls-state-university-to-offer-new-masters-in-clinical-nutrition-and-dietetics-leadership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/2022\/04\/11\/nicholls-state-university-to-offer-new-masters-in-clinical-nutrition-and-dietetics-leadership\/","title":{"rendered":"果冻APP to Offer New Masters in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics Leadership"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">THIBODAUX, La. &#8212; The Louisiana Board of Regents has approved 果冻APP to begin offering a new master of science in clinical nutrition and dietetics leadership degree in Fall 2022.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHaving this program places 果冻APP at the forefront of the future education requirements for registered dietitians,\u201d said Dr. Sherry Foret, program coordinator of the graduate program and assistant professor of dietetics. \u201cIt is important for the Bayou Region because we have a shortage of dietitians in our nearby communities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program\u2019s curriculum will focus on leadership and management in clinical nutrition and dietetic settings. Courses will cover topics such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>interprofessional collaboration in healthcare,&nbsp;<\/li><li>food systems management,&nbsp;<\/li><li>clinical nutrition leadership,<\/li><li>public policy and advocacy,<\/li><li>dietetics research, and<\/li><li>entrepreneurship.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis program will help to prepare graduates for nutrition and dietetics leadership roles in the hospital setting, and for leadership roles in community nutrition, nutrition policy establishment and their own private practice,\u201d Dr. Foret said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Full-time students can complete the program in two years, and students enrolled in the dietetic internship program can complete their internship and work towards their masters at the same time.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eligible students will have a bachelor\u2019s degree, a didactic program in dietetics verification statement from an accredited program, a dietetic internship or confirmed registered dietitian credentials.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information, contact Foret at <a href=\"mailto:sherry.foret@nicholls.edu\">sherry.foret@nicholls.edu<\/a> or visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/allied-health-sciences\/master-of-science-in-clinical-nutrition-and-dietetics-leadership\">www.nicholls.edu\/allied-health-sciences\/master-of-science-in-clinical-nutrition-and-dietetics-leadership<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: <\/strong>Monday, April 11, 2022<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>MEDIA CONTACT: <\/strong>Jerad David, Director of Communications,\u00a0985.448.4303 or jerad.david@nicholls.edu<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THIBODAUX, La. &#8212;
