{"id":8391,"date":"2021-03-19T11:30:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-19T16:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/?p=8391"},"modified":"2021-03-19T10:47:32","modified_gmt":"2021-03-19T15:47:32","slug":"nicholls-marketing-professor-earns-top-paper-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/2021\/03\/19\/nicholls-marketing-professor-earns-top-paper-award\/","title":{"rendered":"果冻APP Marketing Professor Earns Top Paper Award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">THIBODAUX, La. &#8212; 果冻APP Marketing Professor Laura Valenti is earning recognition for her research into marketing communications between franchisors and franchisees.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That research landed Valenti the 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesscommunication.org\/\">Association for Business Communication<\/a> \u2013 Southwestern U.S. Conference Distinguished Paper Award.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her research, titled \u201cA Qualitative Analysis of Top Performing Franchise Brands\u2019 Email Communication Used in the Franchise Sales Process,\u201d evaluates how franchisors are communicating their brand value with their franchisees to assist them in the sales process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Valenti analyzed email communications between top brands to conduct her research, and found that most franchisors place an emphasis on their competitive orientation, innovativeness and action in email communication with prospective franchisees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A member of the organization since 2012 and previous president and past-president, Valenti will present her research at the virtual conference on March 18 and receive the award on March 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She said she admires many of the leading women researchers within ABC-SUS and is humbled to be included among them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI can only hope to achieve an ounce of what these women have done in their careers,\u201d she said. \u201cI am incredibly honored to receive this award and present my paper to conference attendees.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ABC-SWUS named Valenti its 2020 Outstanding Educator, and in 2012, Valenti co-authored a paper with Dr. En Mao and Dr. Marily Macik-Frey that won the organization\u2019s Top Paper award.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Besides her teaching role, Valenti advises the college\u2019s competitive sales and social media teams and organizes the long-running Bayou Sales Challenge.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The nonprofit Federation of Business Disciplines, which includes ABC-SWUS, is dedicated to the advancement of business education and research. Founded in 1973, the organization includes 10 associations and over 1,000 professors.
