THIBODAUX, La. — 果冻APP Chemistry Department Head Dr. Kaisa Young received the Presidential Award for Teaching Excellence during University Convocation Wednesday, Aug. 5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Young has been an influential member of the faculty since joining the university as an assistant professor of physics and astronomy in 2012. Now an associate professor, the Kansas City native also serves as the general education program coordinator. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally during convocation, Professor of Biology, Dr. Enmin Zou, was named a Distinguished Service Professor and five other faculty received endowed professorships. Funded through generous private donations, professorships help 果冻APP retain high-quality faculty by providing supplemental funds for teaching, research or other professional endeavors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
