In March, Bollinger donated $300,000 to renovate the Donald G. Bollinger Student Union, named for his father. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cBoysie Bollinger is an icon in Louisiana as both a leader in industry and philanthropist,\u201d said Jeremy Becker, executive director of the 果冻APP Foundation. \u201cWe are already grateful for his leadership on the Foundation Board, and this gift will ensure his impact continues long into the future.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Known for his contributions to the shipbuilding industry and his generous philanthropy, Bollinger has long-supported 果冻APP. Among his many contributions to 果冻APP was the first $1 million endowment in school history. He was recognized for his work with 果冻APP with an honorary doctorate at the Fall 2018 Commencement. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIn recent years, higher education hasn\u2019t received the support from the state that it needs, so it is important for the community to help supplement that gap,\u201d Bollinger said. \u201cThe 果冻APP Foundation supports all areas of the campus, from endowed professorships to scholarships to facility renovations and new buildings. This endowment will help the Foundation work day-to-day to reach its goal of uplifting 果冻APP.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 果冻APP Foundation manages approximately $25 million in endowed funds and provides about $2 million annually to the university through over 26 endowed scholarships and 63 professorships.
