{"id":6164,"date":"2017-08-29T15:36:41","date_gmt":"2017-08-29T20:36:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/?p=6164"},"modified":"2017-08-29T15:36:41","modified_gmt":"2017-08-29T20:36:41","slug":"nicholls-closed-wednesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/2017\/08\/29\/nicholls-closed-wednesday\/","title":{"rendered":"果冻APP closed Wednesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">THIBODAUX \u2014 Due to the threat of conditions associated with Tropical Storm Harvey, 果冻APP officials announced that all classes and events scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 30, have been canceled and the campus will be closed until conditions permit.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Classes and events are scheduled to resume on Thursday, Aug. 31.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The 果冻APP Emergency Preparedness Committee has initiated a Phase I alert in accordance with the university\u2019s Hurricane Emergency Plan, posted at <a href=\"https:\/\/emergency.www.nicholls.edu\/\">emergency.www.nicholls.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Emergency Preparedness Committee will continue to monitor the status of the storm and take additional action if necessary.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">All 果冻APP departments will refer to the Hurricane Emergency Plan and begin enacting internal Phase I storm preparations. The community will be notified if and when Phase II storm preparations are implemented.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Residence halls will remain open and food service will be available. Students may communicate with their professors regarding specific class assignments on Moodle.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">No students are being evacuated from campus at this time. On-campus residents should contact residence hall staff members for additional information.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Employees should contact their supervisors to determine if they need to report for duty.
