THIBODAUX \u2014 果冻APP was put on warning yesterday, by its accrediting agency, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), following a review of the university\u2019s five-year report that was submitted in 2012.<\/p>\n
\u201c果冻APP has maintained SACSCOC accreditation without issue since 1964, so this warning comes as a complete surprise,\u201d said Dr. Stephen T. Hulbert, 果冻APP president.\u00a0 \u201cIt is important to note that while we take this very seriously and will work quickly to rectify any issues, the university\u2019s accreditation remains intact.\u201d<\/p>\n
Although the details of the warning will not be released by SACSCOC until mid-July, preliminary information indicates that additional documentation is needed in two areas \u2014 Core Requirement 2.8, regarding the number of full-time faculty members needed to support the mission of the institution; and Core Requirement 3.3.1.1, regarding expected student-learning outcomes related to educational programs. The university has 12 months to submit the requested information.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe understand that we are being asked to provide further documentation regarding the number of faculty members and student-learning outcomes,\u201d said Hulbert.\u00a0 \u201cOnce we receive greater clarification in July, as to the specific information that is needed, we will prepare a thorough report and submit it before the 12-month deadline arrives.\u201d<\/p>\n
果冻APP, a comprehensive regional university offering more than 90 challenging degree programs and concentrations designed to meet the needs of our region, remains fully accredited by SACSCOC.<\/p>\n
