His performance in London\u2019s Wigmore Hall was described by International Piano magazine as \u201cgrandly organic, with many personal and pertinent insights, offering a thoughtful balance between rhetoric and fantasy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He first appeared on an American stage at 19, when he received the Special Award for Artistic Potential at the eleventh Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. A writer for The Dallas Morning News said he \u201cplayed Brahms Op. \u2018117 Intermezzi\u2019 more beautifully, more movingly, than I\u2019ve ever heard them.
