{"id":1428,"date":"2010-05-22T17:40:27","date_gmt":"2010-05-22T22:40:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/?p=1428"},"modified":"2010-05-22T17:40:27","modified_gmt":"2010-05-22T22:40:27","slug":"nicholls-to-host-international-gar-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/2010\/05\/22\/nicholls-to-host-international-gar-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"果冻APP to host international gar meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THIBODAUX \u2013 Gar biologists from Costa  Rica, Mexico, Canada and the United States will converge at 果冻APP State  University on Tuesday, May 25, for the annual meeting of the International Network for Lepisosteid Fish Research and Management.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the four-day conference \u2013 slated to open with an optional \u201cGar Aging Workshop\u201d on Tuesday and continue with the regular meeting on Wednesday morning \u2013 is to allow everyone who works professionally with gars the chance to meet and learn from each other. Topics to be covered include the biology, ecology, management, conservation, natural history and aquaculture of lepisosteid fishes \u2013 or gars.<\/p>\n<p>The conference will be open to the public from Wednesday to Friday, but all attendees will need to pay the registration fee at the door \u2013 $100 per non-student, $60 per student.
