Hulbert, university president; Cibelli; Eymard; Lillie; Donegan; Kilgen; Corbin; Debi Benoit, director of research and sponsored programs; Ramachandran; and Zou.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Dr. Balaji Ramachandran, assistant professor of geomatics, received $121,130 for his project titled \u201cAcquisition of Terrestrial Laser Scanning Systems for Multi-Institutional Teaching and Research Enhancement.\u201d The new equipment will help prepare students for careers and\/or graduate school \u2013 as well as help faculty foster their professional and intellectual development.<\/p>\n<p>A $115,728 grant was presented to Amanda Eymard, assistant professor of nursing, for an initiative titled \u201cEnhancement of BSN Nursing Curriculum with SIC Project.\u201d The grant will fund simulation equipment specific to intravenous therapy throughout the curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Enmin Zou, associate professor of biological sciences,<em> <\/em>received $87,505 for a project titled \u201cEnhancing Heavy Metal Analytical Capability for Marine and Environmental Science Education and Research.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Marilyn Kilgen, Alcee Fortier Professor and distinguished service professor of biological sciences, received $75,000 for a project titled \u201cEnhancing Molecular Technologies for Environmental and Public Health Microbiology Research.\u201d The funds will be used to acquire a 96-well plate Real-Time PCR System for the environmental and public health microbiology research laboratory in the Department of Biological Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>A $38,954 grant was awarded to Dr. Deborah Cibelli, professor of art, for a project titled \u201cEnhancement of Digital Learning Resources for the BFA, the BA in Art Education and General Education.\u201d Grant funds will improve two lecture classrooms with state of the art computers and digital projectors.<\/p>\n<p>Angela Corbin, instructor of biological sciences, received $20,063 for her project titled \u201cSeeing is Believing \u2013 Observing the Microscopic World.\u201d The funds will secure the purchase of microscopes for students studying pathogenic microbiology, histology and immunology labs, as well as a teaching scope to increase the success of students in the examination of tissues and cultures.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Deborah Lillie, assistant professor of art, received $15,110 for a project titled \u201cBeginning Photography Curriculum Enhancement.\u201d The funds will introduce digital technology and methods to the photography curriculum.
