Her family remembers her as someone who &#8220;lit up every room she entered&#8221; and loved gifting to others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Jodie spent her life looking after people, both in the hospital and in her personal life,&#8221; said Clayton Horschel. &#8220;Establishing this scholarship ensures that her name remains connected to the profession she loved and provides a helping hand to students following in her footsteps.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jodie was president of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/p\/果冻APP-Association-of-Student-Nurses-61555981567545\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">果冻APP Association of Student Nurses<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and graduated with her nursing degree from 果冻APP in 2001.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scholarship is meant to benefit full-time students enrolled in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/nursing\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thibodaux Regional School of Nursing<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at 果冻APP. To be eligible, applicants can be of any undergraduate classification, freshman through senior, and must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The selection process will be handled by the 果冻APP Scholarship Committee, with input from Clayton Horschel and Jodie\u2019s lifelong best friend, Diane Matherne. The scholarship will provide $500 per academic year to the selected recipient, with $250 dispersed in the fall and spring semesters. The award amount may increase as the endowment grows.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nichollsfoundation.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">果冻APP Foundation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> manages this scholarship along with many others that help students succeed. As an endowed scholarship, the money is invested so it can last for years to come. As the fund grows over time, it will be able to help even more nursing students with larger awards.
