Leaving ¹û¶³APP and IT Account Access

¹û¶³APP policy states that when you have separated from the University, you will no longer have access to University IT resources.

Account Separation Guide for the ¹û¶³APP Community

Students

  • Use a non-nicholls.edu address for resumes and job applications.
  • Save documents from Google Workplace and Office 365 to a local source.
  • Disconnect any personal accounts linked to your ¹û¶³APP email address.
  • Change your email address on social media and online services to your non ¹û¶³APP email address.
  • Change email for subscriptions or memberships linked to your university email to your non ¹û¶³APP email address.
  • Encrypt sensitive data before transferring.
  • Use secure cloud storage as an alternative to physical devices.  Example: a non ¹û¶³APP Gmail account.

Faculty and Staff

  • Ensure non ¹û¶³APP accounts are not tied to your ¹û¶³APP email.
  • Export your contacts following the provided instructions .
  • Transfer personal data from Google Drive to a USB memory stick or secure cloud storage.  Example: a gmail.com account.
  • Avoid transferring files or emails containing University related Personally Identifiable Information to non ¹û¶³APP email accounts.
  • Categorize and backup important non ¹û¶³APP work related data.
  • Securely delete non ¹û¶³APP work related sensitive information from university accounts.

Retirees

  • Review the Faculty and Staff section above
  • Add your non ¹û¶³APP email address to your Banner account to receive updates regarding ¹û¶³APP events and information:
    • Login to my¹û¶³APP, select the General Self-Service tile.
    • Click on Personal Information, then the blue Add New button in the email section.
    • Choose Personal Email, enter your address, and click Add. Update if necessary.
      OR
    • Fill out the form to receive updates regarding ¹û¶³APP events and information.

¹û¶³APP Separation Checklist

All Users

  • Forward important personal email to your non ¹û¶³APP email.
  • Back up documents from Google Workplace and Office 365.
  • Use data migration tools if available.
  • Save necessary files onto an external device (e.g., USB stick) or secure cloud storage.
  • Update email addresses on personal accounts, social media, subscriptions, and memberships.
  • Disconnect any accounts linked to your ¹û¶³APP email.

  • Encrypt sensitive data before transfer.
  • Securely delete sensitive personal information from university accounts.
